We are so rarely here these days.....

To be honest, we're usually on Facebook, Instagram and
occasionally Tumblr.
But we're rarely here.
If only I'd not gotten a zillion business cards printed that mention this blog!
Ah! You live and learn yes?
Here's some quick pics of this week's window anyways!

My Sister Jen is now really in to stained glass.
The pieces she's producing are splendid!
Here's two that are in the window this week.
Pop over to her Facebook to check out all of her creations!

What's new this week at Blackbird Corner? Lots!

PS If you or loved ones are in the areas on NSW exposed to these horrid Spring bush fires we're thinking of you & hoping all are safe & well.

This is not a love song.

It's a bike parking station! Outside Natural Tucker!
Darby Street continues to impress!

The 2014 Frankie Daily Journals & Calendars are in stock and selling fasssst

We did a new window, it's all black & white except for the Frankie goodness!

Heaps of new handmade stock arrived
- including Saturday Lollipop!

The latest Frankie is due to hit the shelves tomorrow - as soon as Brian delivers it!

Oh! And Darby Street After Five has started! Most retail & food stores/cafes will be open until 8pm every Friday night at least until Xmas now! The first night was simply marvellous!

What day is it anyway?

We've had a rather busy/productive week.
New window displays...

New Anorak® design printed on kids/baby tees...

Lots & lots of new stock flooding in
including Emma Makes kitty toys + quote pencils from NZ...

Plus a huge box full of retro toys, battery operated lights & twine....

And too many other things to share photos of here!
Pop in to the shop and have a browse!
I'm being shopgirl today which is weird on "Sarah Tuesday" and now I feel like it's Friday again already!

Count your blessings. Monday's new window.

This morning we popped in to our shop and changed the window display. Earlier we'd cut out paper circles of varying sizes and sewn them together into random drops. I'm pretty happy with how the window turned out actually. Bright & cheerful at a time that many I know are feeling a tad blue - thanks to the current political climate in Australia.
We're pretty disappointed in our country today but we've decided to "count our blessings" instead of focus on the negatives.

Jerk Off Zines Pop Up Stall

This morning David from Jerk Off Zines is having a tiny Pop Up Stall out the front of our shop.
We love his zines and already own a few of them ourselves.
I'm certain that collection will increase by the end of the day. I'm giving others a chance to see the full range before I pop out with my moola to make a selection though.
I do hope Darby Street promenaders stop and peruse his range and support him in his artistic endeavours.
His zines are thoughtfully collated and handmade constructed so each one has it's own unique character.
Plus they're priced between $1 & $5.
Pop down and check them out if you're headed this way?

Time Out.

Nice write up of Darby Street in the Time Out Sydney’s Insider’s guide to Newcastle! And hey! Pretty stoked that they chose a photo of inside Blackbird Corner to represent our lovely Street too!
Their site is well worth checking out too!
